About Us

I, Sharon Johnson (owner) and the staff at Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home are here to assist your loved one in those activities of daily living that have become more difficult for him/her to handle by himself/herself. We are dedicated to provide the highest standard of care, and strive for 100% resident satisfaction.

The staff are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) or have a caregiver background for the elderly. They are extensively trained in assisting in medications and some have received a Proxy course for medications. They receive 18 hours of trained a year related to the care of the elderly.

I have watched our residents being treated as family as the staff help feed them if needed, give them a hug, dance around the room with them, and tell them good night and they love them as they are put to bed. When one is at the end of this life and awaiting the next, the staff come in, even if it is their off day, to kiss them by. We laugh with them and cry with them as we work for them.

I have made a career of caring for others in many facets. I worked at Emory University Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical ICU and Radiology Department. Prior to that I worked at Dekalb General Hospital (now DeKalb Medical) on one of their surgical floors as a Registered Nurse. The past 15 years, I have designated time out of my life to  care for others through mission work in Georgia, other states, and other countries. I sit on the Board of Barnabas Ministries. Barnabas goes into Gwinnett County Jail and prison to minister spiritually to the male and female population.

I am happily married to Mr. Jerry Johnson. Together we have five children, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. I enjoy reading, teaching, sewing, fishing, and hunting.

Foremost in my life is Christ. I have been a Christian since I was 11 years old. God has given me a gift of teaching and evangelism. Temple Baptist Church is my home church and they support me in my mission work and allow me to sing in the choir. Without Christ I am nothing. All I have and all I am is because of Him.
